Mas-Tek Engineering & Associates, Inc. (MTE) was established in Dallas in 1994 by Cornelius Neal Mason as an expansion of the firm, Quality Management Consulting (QMC). His vision was to deliver consistently dependable, quality geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services to clients throughout North Texas. That philosophy and commitment endures as strongly today as in 1994. President, Stephen Mason, upholds the values set by his father by directing Mas-Tek to provide exceptional service and quality throughout all their service offerings. Providing both geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services, MTE serves clients in both the public and private sectors.

MTE recognizes the importance of quality construction inspection and the value associated with it. MTE offers a comprehensive program of Construction Inspection services to provide professional management and documentation required to fully comply with specifications, including: · Ability to provide multi-disciplined services · Fast turnaround and accurate report-ready results · Clear and timely communication of test results · Cost-effective and value-added services, such as Value Engineering · Flexible laboratory schedules Ability to mobilize personnel and equipment resources to meet client needs regardless of the project size.
MTE laboratory is "accredited by AASHTO Accreditation Program" in concrete, soil, and aggregates. In addition, they are accredited by AASHTO (R18) and meet the requirements for ASTM E329. The firm is also an active participant in "AASHTO re:source", CCRL, and TxDOT Proficiency Sample Programs. The full-service in-house laboratory is equipped to conduct testing for soils, concrete, and aggregates. MTE is a member of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL), and is reviewed by various agencies to keep all of their laboratory certifications in force. All laboratory equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained for optimum working condition, and is documented in calibration logs.

Mas-Tek has developed a thorough and documented QA/QC program that is a part of every project, from beginning to end. Key elements include routine equipment inspection and calibration; utilizing formal guidelines for materials testing procedures; and formal documentation for all testing activities. Project documentation can always be requested by the client.
The technicians at MTE are certified by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the National Institute of Construction Engineering Technology (NICET). Structural steel inspectors are certified by the American Welding Society (AWS), as well as by the American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT). Technicians also hold Post Tensioning Institute (PTI) Certification for pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete structures.
